to add the back i had to router a rebate so that it would it would sit flat. so that the router would run flush a clamped a scrap bit of wood to the rail. when operating the router a wore safety glasses to protect against flying chips of wood. i also used earmuffs as the router makes a loud sound. when i was finished i made sure the rebate was flat so that when i put the back piece in it would easily fit in.
