buttons

Updated: Nov 8, 2018

i made buttons to attach to the table top. these buttons are to prevent splitting and qwerks in the timber as it dries or moves. to make these i took a length of wood and marked out 30mm for each button i marked 10mm within this which was to accommodate the piece which will insert into the rail. while uncut i drilled a pilot whole and countersunk this on the other side so the screws will not protrude. Because of the size of my table I could not fit in the Festool therefore i added a length of timber to the rail to act as the insert. i made sure that the rail was wide enough so the buttons can still move to prevent cracking of the top.
